LA Galaxy travel to San Jose for U.S. Open Quarterfinal date ahead of weekend friendly with Manchester United | Weekly Schedule

LOS ANGELES (Monday, July 10, 2017) – LA Galaxy return to the pitch after a six-day break from competition, their longest in almost a month’s time. Tonight, they take on rival San Jose Earthquakes in a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal date at Avaya Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT, streamed live on USSoccer.org). On Saturday, they’ll host world football giants Manchester United at StubHub Center (7 p.m. PT, ESPN).


2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open: San Jose Earthquakes vs. LA Galaxy – Monday, July 10

LA return to Northern California for a quarterfinal matchup with rival San Jose Earthquakes in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup. LA qualifies after earning wins over USL sides Sacramento Republic FC and Orange County SC in June.


San Jose makes the quarterfinal round after collecting wins over the San Francisco Deltas (NASL) and Seattle Sounders FC.


In two MLS regular season meetings this season, each team has collected a win. Last time at Avaya Stadium, the Galaxy earned a 4-2 win over the Earthquakes behind a brace from forward Giovani dos Santos.
