The LA Galaxy Under-18’s are going to the Academy Championship Finals! The Galaxy defeated Seattle Sounders FC in overtime in their U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoff match on Friday, July 14 at StubHub Center. LA Galaxy II's Ethan Zubak scored the game winner in the seventh minute of overtime clinching the 3-2 victory for the Academy.
The Galaxy trailed the majority of the match with a 2-0 score in favor of the Sounders at halftime. Two quick goals for Efrain Alvarez and Ulysses Llanez tied the match up with the goals coming in the 71' and 78'.
Neither team could find the back of the net as regulation ticked down. Ethan's lone overtime goal proved to be the clincher for the Academy.
Next, Los Angeles will face Texans Soccer Club in the USSDA Finals on July 16 at 6:00 p.m. at StubHub Center. (Time subject to change)
