The LA Galaxy Player of the Month Award presented by Herbalife Nutrition features a stacked ballot for August, with five members from LA Galaxy Special Olympics Southern California Unified up for nomination: Logan Jones, Jose Conde, Oliver Fiust, Carlos Arriaza and Jose Gomez.
The LA Galaxy finished off the 2017 season on Aug. 27 with a 4-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes Special Olympics Northern California Unified Team. The match marked the end of the Galaxy SOSC Unified Team season as they finished with a 3-0-0 record, 20 goals scored and a +15 goal differential during their three games this season.
Fans will be able to vote for the group of nominated players at LAGalaxy.com/POTM, where they can also enter the Herbalife Player of the Month Sweepstakes. August’s Herbalife Nutrition Player of the Month award winner will be announced on Sept. 8, with fan voting closing on Sept. 7.

Logan Jones, a goalkeeper and a forward for LA Galaxy SOSC Unified, played a big part in only five goals being score in Galaxy across the 2017 campaign. In August’s season finale, his belter was named #10 on SportsCenter’s Top 10.
Forward Jose Conde, an MLS Special Olympics Unified All-Star, scored in the team’s last game helping the team to an impressive 4-0 finish to the season.
Oliver Fiust, a talented and technical young winger, put in a two-goal performance against Portland Timbers FC, setting up the Galaxy for a perfect finish to the campaign on August 27 at StubHub Center.
Midfielder Carlos Arriaza finished his season with a goal in the team’s last game. Controlling the midfield all season long, Arriaza was instrumental many of the 20 goals LA Galaxy scored this season.
Jose Gomez, known for his long-range efforts, was a spirited member of the 2017 team who made his presence known in the midfield all season long.
When a fan votes for a player online at LAGalaxy.com/POTM, they can enter to win the Herbalife Nutrition Player of the Month Sweepstakes. Each month, the sweepstakes winner will receive four VIP match tickets to a 2017 LA Galaxy home game. The winner and their three guests will also win a meet and greet with the LA Galaxy at a private training session.
The campaign for Septemeber’s LA Galaxy Player of the Month Award presented by Herbalife kicks off at 8 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Colorado Rapids at StubHub Center. Tickets to the match are available for purchase at lagalaxy.com/tickets.
