Jonathan dos Santos named to Mexican National Team Roster for Upcoming FIFA Friendlies

LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, March 14, 2018) – LA Galaxy midfielder Jonathan dos Santos has been called up by Mexican National Team Head Coach Juan Carlos Osorio for the team’s two upcoming friendlies against Iceland and Croatia as the Mexican National Team 2018 U.S. Tour continues.


Giovani dos Santos will miss the international friendlies after suffering an injury in the Galaxy’s match against New York City FC on Sunday. In that same match, Jonathan scored his first goal of the season for the Galaxy.


Mexico and Jonathan dos Santos will face Iceland on Friday, March 23 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. (7:30 p.m. PT) followed by a fixture against Croatia on Tuesday, March 27 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (7 p.m. PT).


Giovani and Jonathan were last called in by Osorio for Mexico’s friendly against Bosnia & Herzegovina. In that match, Jonathan recorded the game-winning assist in a 1-0 victory at the Alamodome in San Antonio.


With the call-up, Jonathan will miss the Galaxy’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, March 24 at BC Place. He will return ahead of LA Galaxy’s next home match on Saturday, March 31 against LAFC at StubHub Center. Tickets to the match are available for purchase here.
