LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ

On how the team came out to start the match:
“It was a poor start by us conceding early. I was happy with the response. I was happy with the goals. I was happy with the execution and the gameplan. We knew that we were going to be able to counter them in transition. They’re an ambitious team. They like to get their wingbacks high. So we felt that if we could be disciplined defensively and limit the chaos that Vegas wants to create, we were going to be able to punish them. It was good execution in terms of that.”

On the play of Ethan Zubak and the rest of the team’s performance:
“Zubak is in a good run of form, especially on the offensive side. We’re asking him to do more defensively and tactically, so that part needs to improve to complete his overall game. But I’m happy for the kid. I told the guys at the end of the game that while the seven goals were fantastic, I thought that the collective performance wasn’t at the level that it needed to be. We have to remain humble. I’m happy for the score and the win, of course, but we have to keep getting better because I think the collective could have been better tonight.”

On the adjustments that he wants to see made ahead of next week:
“We have to improve our build out. We have to improve our starting spots offensively. We have to stop conceding goals. We still have a lot of work to do. But we’re going to enjoy it and obviously prepare for a big match against Tulsa next week.”

LA GALAXY II FORWARD ETHAN ZUBAK

On his historic night:
“Tonight was great. Obviously it’s been a weird start to the season, but it’s been good at home. You can see how good we play at home. The vibe was good tonight. The crowd was into it and the guys were up for the game. And right away I was feeling it, so I mean having this accomplishment it just feels awesome.”

On the momentum that the team can take from this match:
“We’ve got to keep on scoring goals. Having scored so many goals in the last four or five games, we’ve just got to keep that momentum up. Also just as a team, collectively, stop giving up goals. Because if we stop doing that, this season could go really well for us.”
