Lineup Notes

  • The Galaxy continue with a busy schedule as they play their third game of a stretch that features four games in 12 days, with tonight’s match coming against Western Conference side FC Dallas at StubHub Center.
  • Head coach Sigi Schmid will switch his lineup with a mind towards playing a midday game on turf in Portland this Saturday, as an adjusted backline will go up against FC Dallas.
  • In net, David Bingham will continue to make the start in net with his 13th-straight of the season. He has played every minute this year for LA and is coming off two-straight shutout victories.
  • Defender Daniel Steres will slot back into the back line on the right side Wednesday evening, the same position that he played earlier this month against FC Dallas. Steres has made 56 MLS starts during his career.
  • Making his second-ever start is the 2nd overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, Tomas Hilliard-Arce. Hilliard-Arce will rotate in on the back line during the busy stretch. His only other start this season yielded a shutout performance vs. Vancouver.
  • Alongside Hilliard-Arce is Norwegian Jorgen Skjelvik, who has also made every start this season for the Galaxy since being acquired this offseason. He was influential during the Galaxy’s two-straight shutouts in previous weeks.
  • On the left, Ashley Cole returns to the start lineup with fresh legs after entering last match as a substitute vs. the San Jose Earthquakes. Cole makes his 10th start of the season.
  • In the center of the field. Perry Kitchen will also make his 13th start – Bingham, Skjelvik and Kitchen are the only three to start in each match. Kitchen will play a big role in the midfield after Jonathan dos Santos has now departed to Mexico for international duty.
  • Alongside Kitchen is Servando Carrasco, a savvy MLS veteran who has 79 previous starts and 132 previous MLS appearances. He will provide a disciplined and solid presence in the center of the field Wednesday evening.
  • Out wide on the right is the Frenchman Romain Alessandrini, who is coming off a massive goal on Friday that gave the Galaxy a 1-0 victory over San Jose. Alessandrini will look to keep that strong form going Wednesday.
  • Midfielder Sebastian Lletget will make his 10th start of the season and will look to play an increased role in the Galaxy’s possession and offense with the departure of the Dos Santos brothers.
  • On the left, Ola Kamara slides back out wide in his 12th start of the season. Kamara has been a workhorse for LA, scoring four goals in his last five matches and contributing on the defensive end with his hustle.
  • Up top is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a Swedish striker who has been successful during his career.

Game Notes

  • All-time, the Galaxy are 33-26-12 against FC Dallas, with a 24-6-5 record at home.
  • This will mark the second contest between LA and Dallas this month, with LA falling 3-2 on the road on May 12
  • Three players – David Bingham, Perry Kitchen and Jorgen Skjelvik – have started in every match this season. All three players were acquired this offseason by LA.
  • The Galaxy are 3-3-0 at home this season, with nine goals scored and 11 goals allowed.
  • This year, FC Dallas have gone 2-1-1 on the road, scoring four goals and conceding four goals in those matches.
  • Yellow card watch:

    • SUSPENDED AFTER TWO YELLOW CARDS: LA: Michael Ciani

Quick Hits

George Michael Lyrics

I feel so unsure

As I take your hand and lead you to the
dance floor
soccer field

As the music dies, something in your eyes

Calls to mind the silver screen

And all its sad good-byes

I'm never gonna
dance
play again

Guilty feet have got no rhythm

Though it's easy to pretend

I know you’re not a fool

Should've known better than to cheat a friend

And waste the chance that I've been given

So I'm never gonna
dance
play again
The way I
danced
played with you

Time can never mend

The careless whispers of a good friend

To the heart and mind

Ignorance is kind

There's no comfort in the truth

Pain is all you'll find

I'm never gonna
dance
play again

Guilty feet have got no rhythm

Though it's easy to pretend

I know you’re not a fool
