Coach Muñoz vs. Reno FC

LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ

On last night’s performance:
“We gave up an early goal which hurt us. So now we’re playing catch up. In the second half, you come out with a rejuvenated idea and aggressiveness. You try and get that first goal, but an early goal right after halftime hurt us even more. I thought we looked dangerous at times, but clearly our organization defensively was nowhere near as good as it was against Orange County.”

On what was lacking from the team coming into the match:
“We looked flat. We looked flat from the start. Reno came with more aggressiveness. They were running harder than us. We had to make a lot of changes from the last game. We’ve had some new players come down. So anytime you make a lot of changes, it disrupts the team chemistry a little bit, but that’s not an excuse. We still should have executed better, especially at home.”

On the team’s upcoming break and mentality:
“Coming into this game we were two wins away from a playoff spot. It’s there and the guys believe that we can cross that line and that we can be a contender in playoffs. That part hasn’t changed and we’ll make sure that we get healthy over the next few days and then we have two weeks to really train hard and get ready for Portland.
