LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019) – As part of #Since96 week, the LA Galaxy will light up Los Angeles ahead of the club’s 2019 home-opening match. On Thursday, Feb. 28, the Pacific Wheel Ferris wheel at Pacific Park® on the Santa Monica Pier will be illuminated with the LA Galaxy Shield and team colors, marking the second consecutive year the iconic location will celebrate the Galaxy’s home opener. The Pacific Wheel at Pacific Park will remain lit through the Galaxy’s match against the Chicago Fire at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, March 2 at 5 p.m. PT on FS1.
LA Galaxy midfielder Jonathan dos Santos, LA Galaxy legend Robbie Keane, along with Galaxy supporters, Cozmo and the LA Galaxy Star Squad will be on hand as the Galaxy light up at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier.
In addition to the lighting of the Pacific Wheel at Pacific Park, the first 96 fans who find Cozmo and the Galaxy Star Squad will receive a free ride on the Pacific Wheel at Pacific Park. Star Squad members will also distribute game cards and ride cards to guests on the Pier and Ocean Front Walk. Pacific Park will serve Galaxy themed food that fans can enjoy, including LA Galaxy branded cotton candy, LA Galaxy themed ice cream cookie sandwiches featuring blue ice cream, and sugar cookies decorated with the LA Galaxy logo.
