Starting XI presented by Modelo: LA Galaxy vs. Real Salt Lake | April 28, 2019 -

Lineup Notes

  • Guillermo Barros Schelotto will make three adjustments to the starting lineup from Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against Minnesota, as Diedie Traore, Chris Pontius and Rolf Feltscher start in place of Julian Araujo, Jorgen Skjelvik and Emmanuel Boateng.
  • Once again, goalkeeper David Bingham  gets the nod in net – Bingham has started every MLS match for the Galaxy since his signing in January 2018. Bingham has allowed just one goal – a penalty – in his previous four contests.
  • At right back, Rolf Feltscher returns to the XI after missing time with a slight muscle injury. Feltscher has been the first-choice right back since joining ahead of last season.
  • In the center is Daniel Steres, who has made 80 appearances during his time with the club since signing from LA Galaxy II. The guy still remains the team’s second-leading scorer this year.
  • Alongside Steres is the Uruguayan and horse-riding/goal-scoring Diego Polenta, who makes his eighth start of the season.
  • Out wide on the left if Frenchman Diedie Traore, who makes his first-ever start in MLS play. The youngster made history when he signed a professional contract with Galaxy II last year, making him the first-ever to sign professionally after being selected via the LA Galaxy II Tryouts.
  • In the center of the midfield is Mexican international Jonathan dos Santos, who has continued to show that he is one of the most talented central midfielders in MLS with his standout play this season.
  • Making his eighth-straight start of 2019 is midfielder Sebastian Lletget, who will make the 72nd start of his MLS career. In all, he has 12 goals and 12 assists.
  • Completing the midfield mix is Joe Corona, the 28-year-old U.S. Men’s National team veteran who was signed to the Galaxy through the use of Target Allocation Money on March 6. Corona also makes his eighth start in MLS this season.
  • On the left will be the young and the speedy Mexican international Uriel Antuna. The Manchester City loan has started every game this season.
  • On the right, the MLS veteran Chris Pontius gets the nod. Pontius has 51 goals and 35 assists in all during his time in MLS, amassing 247 appearances.
  • Up top is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who plays soccer.
