Starting XI presented by Modelo: Sporting Kansas City vs. LA Galaxy | May 29, 2019 -

Lineup Notes

  • Kansas City, here we come! Guillermo Barros Schelotto and the LA Galaxy roll into town fresh off their first win since April 28, ready to get another win streak rolling. GBS will make two changes to his lineup for Wednesday’s contest, bringing on Zlatan Ibrahimović and Dave Romney. Ibrahimović returns from a two-game suspension; Romney starts in place of an injured Rolf Feltscher.
  • Goalkeeper David Bingham starts his 49th straight game in the net since joining the Galaxy, on the heels of one of his best performances of the season. A penalty kick stop and season-high-tying six-save performance lifted the Galaxy to victory last Friday against Orlando.
  • On the right is the Dave Romney, who starts in place of the injured Feltscher. Romney has started one game in 2019, a 2-0 shutout win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on April 5.
  • In the center is Daniel Steres, who has made 86 appearances during his time with the club since signing from LA Galaxy II after the 2015 season. Steres and the LA Galaxy defense earned their first shutout since April 24 in last Friday’s win.
  • Also back in center defense is Giancarlo Gonzalez, who makes his fourth-straight start for the LA Galaxy after joining the club last month. He led the LA Galaxy in clearances last match with nine.
  • Jorgen Skjelvik rounds out the backline for his 11th start of the season. In all, Jorgen has made 42 previous appearances since joining the Galaxy ahead of the 2018 season.
  • Making his 14th-straight start of 2019 is midfielder Sebastian Lletget, who will make the 78th start of his MLS career. In all, he has 12 goals and 13 assists.
  • The man that can do it all, Jonathan dos Santos, is back in the Starting XI after missing his only match of the season two weeks ago vs. NYCFC. Dos Santos’ game-winning goal last week against Orlando was the first game-winning goal of his Galaxy career.
  • Completing the midfield mix is Joe Corona, the 28-year-old U.S. Men’s National team veteran who was signed to the Galaxy through the use of Target Allocation Money on March 6. Corona is set to make his 14th start in MLS this season.
  • Favio Alvarez is slated to make his third straight start for the Galaxy since signing on ---, this time in the right winger role. Today will be the versatile midfielder’s first match played with Zlatan Ibrahimović.
  • The only field player to start every LA Galaxy game this season, Uriel Antuna, will feature in the left winger position. No one hustles harder than this speedy Mexican midfielder.
  • Zlatan Ibrahimović is back. Did you miss him?
