LA Galaxy II captain Jack McBean has been on fire this season as he leads the USL in goals scored with 11. Ahead of Friday night’s USL Game of the Week on ESPN3 against Tulsa Roughnecks FC, USL caught up with McBean to find out more about what music gets him ready for game day, and more.
Q: What was the last concert you went to?
JMB: I went to Coachella for one day, so I saw a handful of people.
Q: Who has the best dance moves on the team? How about the worst?
JMB: The best, Kainoa Bailey, the worst, probably Lee Nishanian.
Q: Who is the locker room and bus DJ?
JMB: We have a bunch of locker room DJs. Alejandro Covarrubias, Jeff Payeras, Adonis [Amaya], Kai [Bailey], sometimes myself, sometimes Raul [Mendiola].
Q: If you could steal any artist’s closet, who would you choose?
JMB: Probably Adam Levine.
Q: How important is the right music to your game day routine?
JMB: It depends. It can get you pumped up, for sure, or it can kinda calm you down from feeling a little bit agitated, I’ll listen to something more mellow, but when you’re stuck in traffic driving, I want to get pumped up, it definitely helps.
