Sebastian Lletget may be San Francisco Bay Area-bred, but “Da Boy” loves Los Angeles more than he ever could have thought when he made the move to SoCal a year ago.
Like a lot of young kids from Northern California, Lletget was raised to look down on the city nearly 400 miles to the south. As a fan of the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors, Lletget’s love of Bay Area sports teams provided him with a connection to his hometown after he left Northern California for London in his teens to sign with English Premier League club West Ham United.

England provided the Californian with plenty of new experiences off the field, but on the field, Lletget was never able to lock down a regular place with the Hammers, ultimately leading to his move to the Galaxy a year ago. The Bay Area kid flourished in Los Angeles, playing in 20 games and scoring seven goals for his new side en route to becoming a fan favorite among the Galaxy faithful.
That warm reception from LA fans was key to “Da Boy” accepting his new home into his heart.
“I’m blurring the lines a little,” a smiling Lletget told LAGalaxy.com. “This city and this club have accepted me into their hearts. Galaxy fans especially have been fantastic. I know that I’m from a rival city, but it’s been a great transition so far, and I’m grateful for that.”
Like many Galaxy players, the 23-year-old has found his home in the South Bay enclave of Manhattan Beach. Alongside the picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean, the Galaxy's most photogenic player has discovered a new home.

“Manhattan Beach suits my personality. It’s tranquil and beautiful. It’s amazing,” said Lletget. “At the beginning it was a little bit different, but now I feel like Los Angeles is like home to me. I may be from the Bay Area, but I’ve got a lot of love for this city, and I’m going to show it through my soccer.”
Heading into his first full year in Los Angeles, the new Angeleno is hoping to win a title for his adopted city.
“I’ve only been here seven months, but I can see that the Galaxy mean so much to this city," Lletget said. "People are noticing that this is a big club and it means a lot to us to play for the city.”
