Bruce Arena says there is "no truth" to report linking Steven Gerrard to a Liverpool return | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena offered a firm “no” on the talk of a potential loan move for Steven Gerrard a week ago, and he re-affirmed that sentiment on Wednesday.

Speculation from across the pond has been swirling around Gerrard after a report in The Independent on Tuesday stated that Liverpool FC might be interested in bringing Gerrard back to Anfield in a coaching or playing capacity. The rumor was immediately shot down by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who confirmed that Gerrard will not be joining the club in either capacity during a press conference a day later

In a roundtable with local reporters on Thursday, Arena confirmed that Gerrard was not going anywhere this offseason.

“I don’t believe it is at all accurate,” Arena said. “There’s not any truth to any of this. It’s ridiculous.”

Arena did state that he’d be open to allowing Gerrard to train with Liverpool during the offseason.

“Of course,” he said. “Why not?”
