CARSON, Calif. – CONCACAF announced the groups and schedule for this summer’s 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States on Tuesday.
The schedule for this summer’s tournament was announced on Tuesday at a ceremony at Levi’s Stadium, which will play host to the final on July 26. This summer’s tournament will run from July 7 to July 26.
Honduras, the United States and Mexico were selected as top seeds for the three groups.
The United States leads Group B and will open the tournament on July 8 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville against Panama. The Americans will then take on Martinique at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, before closing the group stage against the winner of Haiti and Nicaragua on July 15 at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland.
Mexico anchors Group C and will begin the competition on July 9 against El Salvador at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. El Tri will then face Jamaica at Sports Authority Field in Denver on July 13 before ending the group stage three days later against Curacao at San Antonio’s Alamodome.
Two quarterfinal matches will be held at Lincoln Financial Field with the winners of Group A taking on the second place team from Group B in one match, while the first place team from Group B faces a third-seed from either Group A or Group C. The remaining pair of quarterfinals will kick off at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale as the top seed from Group C faces a third-place team from Group A or Group B, with the final match pitting the two second seeds from Group A and B against one another.
The winners of the match in Philadelphia will head to the first semifinal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on July 22, while the victors of the Phoenix quarterfinal will face off at the Rose Bowl on July 23 for the other semifinal contest.
The final will be held at Levi’s Stadium on July 26.
