Mexican National Team Head Coach Juan Carlos Osorio has named LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos and midfielder Jonathan dos Santos to Mexico’s roster for a pair of November Friendly matches against Belgium and Poland. Mexico will face Belgium on Friday, Nov. 10 at King Baudouin Stadium before a contest against Poland on Monday, Nov. 13 at 11:45 a.m. PT at PGE Arena Gdansk.
Giovani and Jonathan dos Santos will join Mexico after helping the team finish first in the group with 21 points to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.
Giovani dos Santos recently made his 100th appearance for the Mexican National team and featured heavily during the qualifiers in the CONCACAF Hexagonal. He made his debut for Mexico just over 10 years ago when he appeared in a 1–0 victory over Panama in September 2007.
Jonathan dos Santos has made over 30 appearances for the Mexican National Team, including more than six appearances in Mexico’s Hex campaign. The midfielder made his debut for Mexico in 2009 at the age of 19.
Giovani finished the 2017 MLS campaign with 25 appearances – all starts – while adding six goals and three assists on the year. Jonathan joined the Galaxy mid-year and made his first appearance in August before finishing the year with 12 appearances in addition to a goal and assist.
