CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy General Manager Pete Vagenas confirmed to Spectrum SportsNet that the LA Galaxy are hoping to make a decision soon on their vacant head coaching position.
In an interview with Kelli Tennant, Vagenas stated that the club has had extensive interest in the coaching vacancy and that a decision should be coming shortly.
"We have interest from all around the globe, which is incredibly humbling," Vagenas said. "We have some fantastic candidates that we continue to work through, a lot of fantastic people that we're talking too, and hopefully we're getting close to making a decision soon."
The Galaxy's general manager also discussed a photo of the executive and club president Chris Klein with Jermaine Jones at a Los Angeles Lakers game earlier this week.
"The reality is a club of our stature attracts a lot of quality players and we wouldn't be doing our part if we weren't thoroughly vetting potential players," Vagenas said. "Obviously Jermaine's a fantastic athlete, an ambassador for our sport if you would for this country, so it was nice to watch a Laker game and catch up with him for a little bit."
