CARSON, Calif. -- New LA Galaxy signing Giovani Dos Santos will miss Mexico's 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinal date with Costa Rica.
Dos Santos exited Mexico's 4-4 draw with Trinidad and Tobago at halftime with what was diagnosised as a left abductor injury after the match. In an interview with reporters after the match, Mexico doctor Gerardo Aguilar stated that dos Santos will likely miss the Costa Rica match as the Mexican training staff runs tests on the injury.
"Unfortunately, he left with a problem in his left abductor muscle," Aguilar told reporters after the game also ruling out a fracture. "If it is fasciitis, Gio will be out for three to five days."
