Giovani dos Santos gave Mexico a 1-0 victory over Scotland at the Estadio Azteca on Saturday afternoon.
Dos Santos scored his 19th international goal as El Tri earned a victory over Scotland in their North American sendoff before heading to Europe to complete their preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The striker’s finish was a beauty as he combined well with Carlos Vela to put Mexico ahead for good. Dos Santos went – minutes in the win before coming off for Jona dos Santos who completed the match.
Earlier in the day, the Mexican federation announced that both dos Santos brothers were named to the 24-man roster for the team’s trip to Europe. Head coach Juan Carlos Osorio is expected to name the full 23-man roster for the World Cup before the team returns to action next week against Denmark.
