CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos threw his support behind Mexico interim manager Ricardo "Tuca" Ferreti ahead of Sunday's clash with New York City FC.
After training on Friday, Dos Santos declared that "we must support Tuca" after he was appointed the interim boss of El Tri for the national team's next four matches -- including October's Confederations Cup playoff at the Rose Bowl -- earlier in the day. Although the Galaxy forward admitted that he's not too familiar with the Tigres UANL head coach, Dos Santos said he was excited to play for Ferreti.
"He's a great coach and I'm happy for him. He's got a great character and he's won," Dos Santos said. "He will come and help the national team, I wish him the best of luck."
