Gunnery Sergeant Stephanie Torres is the Hero of the Match presented by Pirnia Law | September 30, 2023

Gunnery Sergeant Torres enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2011 and reported to Parris Island, South Carolina. Shortly after, she began recruit training with 4th Battalion, Papa Company, Platoon 4017.

Upon completion of training, she reported to Automotive Maintenance Technician School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina. She was then stationed with a Communication Battalion in Camp Pendleton, California where she served as a diesel mechanic. In 2014 she reenlisted and lateral-moved to become a Career Counselor.

 In 2015 she deployed with the Marine Attack Squadron 214 on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit where she served as the only Career Planner aboard ship. She is currently serving and stationed in Downey, California as a Marine Corps recruiter.

Gunnery Sergeant Torres’ personal awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 4 gold stars in lieu of 5th award, and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 3 stars in lieu of fourth award. She was also Rookie Recruiter of the Year in 2022.
