The LA Galaxy Academy have accepted an invite to compete in the inaugural Prospects Cup

, presented by UCI Live, Univision Communications Inc.’s (UCI) in- house experiential marketing unit, that will be held from December 18-22, 2017 at the Omni ChampionsGate Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida. The teams that accepted their invite to compete include: Academy teams from Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs FC Dallas, LA Galaxy and Orlando City Soccer; U.S. Youth Soccer teams Pachuca Tuzos Acad- emy (Phoenix) and Real Jersey FC (Medford, NJ); U.S. Development Academy’s Weston Soccer Club (Miami); Sockers FC (Chicago) and Global Premier Soccer (Boston).
Prospects CupSM is a global event that will bring 16 amateur youth soccer teams from around the world competing for the sport’s first youth soccer world championship. Inspired by the Little League World Series model, the tournament looks to crown the world’s best under-12 boys team.
“We are thrilled that the initial eight teams have accepted their invitations to join us in Kissimmee later this year to crown the inaugural Prospects Cup champion”, said Rick Alessandri, executive vice president, Univision Enterprise Development and UCI Live. “The eight U.S. teams will battle it out for the U.S. champion spot and the right to face the International bracket winner.”

About Prospects Cup
The round-robin tournament will include eight U12 youth boys teams based in the U.S. and eight teams from clubs around the world which will be spilt into two divisions. The team winners (based upon cumulative points) of each division will compete on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Each division team champion (from the U.S. and international divisions) will face off in the championship match on December 22, 2017. The inaugural event will be broadcast LIVE on Univision Deportes Network and its multiple digital platforms in both English and Spanish worldwide.
