LA Galaxy Acquire Two International Roster Slots and Up to $775,000 in General Allocation Money from Nashville SC in Exchange for Midfielder Tyler Boyd

LOS ANGELES (Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has acquired two International Roster Slots (one in 2024 and 2025) and $150,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) split halfway between the 2024 and 2025 MLS seasons from Nashville SC in exchange for midfielder Tyler Boyd. Additionally, the Galaxy may receive up to $625,000 in conditional GAM if certain performance metrics are met by Boyd with Nashville. 

“As we continue to improve our roster, with the aim of maintaining roster flexibility, Nashville offered us a deal that accomplishes both of those goals,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz. “We wish Tyler and his family the best as he embarks on a new and exciting chapter in his career.”

Boyd, 28, recorded eight goals and five assists in 39 matches played (32 starts) across all competitions for the LA Galaxy during the 2023 campaign. The Tauranga, New Zealand, native appeared in every league match (28 starts) for LA in 2023, finishing the season with seven goals and four assists, including two game-winning goals and two game-winning assists.
