Stefan Ishizaki

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, July 6, 2015) – The LA Galaxy and midfielder Stefan Ishizaki have mutually parted ways. Ishizaki, 33, departs after joining the Galaxy prior to the start the 2014 season. He played his final match in a Galaxy uniform Saturday in a 4-0 victory over Toronto FC at StubHub Center.

“We want to thank Stefan for a year and a half of unwavering dedication, effort and professionalism as a member of this club,” LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena said. “Stefan is a talented player and a good person. We wish him and his family the best of luck.”

In total, Ishizaki finished his Galaxy career with 50 appearances and 41 starts while recording six goals and 12 assists, including three game-winning assists. He also added an assist in the 2014 MLS Cup to help the Galaxy become the first and only team to win five MLS Cup trophies. In 2014, he was voted a finalist for the 2014 MLS Newcomer of the Year Award.
