LA Galaxy Announce Sellout for Fourth of July Home Match against LAFC at Rose Bowl Stadium

LOS ANGELES (Monday, July 3, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that the Fourth of July home match at Rose Bowl Stadium against LAFC, presented by Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel, is sold out. The 20th edition across all competitions of El Tráfico between the LA Galaxy and LAFC is expected to break the all-time MLS attendance record set on March 5, 2022, when the Galaxy squared off against Charlotte FC before 74,479 fans at Bank of America Stadium.

With over 80,000 expected guests in attendance, fans who don’t arrive to Rose Bowl Stadium by 5:30 p.m. PT will risk missing the 7:30 p.m. PT kickoff. Fans without tickets are highly discouraged from showing up at Rose Bowl Stadium for the LA Galaxy vs. LAFC match on Tuesday, July 4.

Fans attending the match will need the AXS or LA Galaxy App in order to access tickets and are urged to download the app and log in to view their tickets before arriving at the Rose Bowl. Additionally, fans may be asked to show their tickets upon entry to the parking lots. Fans without tickets to the match should avoid showing up at Rose Bowl Stadium and the Arroyo Seco area on July 4 due to heavy traffic.

Fans should plan to enter through stadium gates at least one hour prior to the start of the match or they will risk missing the start of the match.

Bag Policy
The Rose Bowl Stadium has a clear bag policy for all events. We strongly encourage fans to conform to the policy prior to arriving at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Otherwise, large purses and bags must be returned to vehicle or checked in for a fee of $10 at the stadium's item check-in tent located at Gate C and Gate N. BAG POLICY

Tailgating
Avoid the traffic and tailgate at America's stadium. Fans are encouraged to spend the afternoon at one of the most iconic tailgating locations in the world, enjoying pre-game fun and miss spending hours in traffic. Please read the tailgating guidelines HERE.

Giveaway
Forty thousand LA Galaxy fans in attendance will receive “Our LA. Our Galaxy.” rally towels at their seats upon arrival at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

Game Presentation
The national anthem on July 4 will be performed by Heidi-Marie Ferren, who is the last and longest reigning Miss USO and has performed and spoken across the globe as an ambassador in over 1,000 venues globally. The Hero of the Match is United States Army Chief Warrant Officer II Thomas Jones, who is a Vietnam veteran. Some of his awards include the Purple Heart, the Army Aviation Badge - Helicopter Pilot, Air Medal with "V" device and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with a Silver Star. Notably, the LA Galaxy Academy U-17s will be recognized during pre-game in the match against LAFC after defeating Real Colorado U-17s 4-2 in the final of the 2023 U-17 MLS NEXT Cup to become champions of the tournament at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas on June 25.

Fan Fest
Fan Fest will be open to supporters of both clubs and will be open from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. PT, with live music and food and beverage available for purchase. The Soccer Champions Tour is bringing out legends from the participating clubs to sign autographs in Fan Fest from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. PT. Real Madrid’s Roberto Carlos, FC Barcelona’s Sergi Barjuán, AC Milan’s Franco Baresi, Arsenal’s Gilberto and Juventus’ Andrea Barzagli will all be in attendance at Fan Fest at the Rose Bowlin Lot H. The activating partners in Fan Fest are the LA Times, WSS and Modelo Fan Bus.

LA Galaxy Foundation
The Galaxy will be wearing commemorative jersey patches on field for the match against LAFC. The jerseys are being signed by each player and auctioned off via the LA Galaxy Foundation. The online auction will open at 10:00 AM PT on Tuesday, July 4 and will close at the 75th minute of the match. Fans can text GALAXY to 76278 to bid. The LA Galaxy are highlighting Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors as their Community Partner of the Match. TAPS is the national nonprofit organization providing compassionate care and comprehensive resources for all those grieving the death of a military or veteran loved one. The foundation will also be honoring Merging Vets & Players at Fan Fest. MVP empowers combat veterans and former professional athletes by connecting them after the uniform comes off, providing them with a new team to assist with transition, promoting personal development and showing them they are never alone. Galaxy Fireworks Show
The Fourth of July match against LAFC at Rose Bowl Stadium marks the continuation of the Galaxy’s tradition of hosting a game on Independence Day. Following the match, the club will host a fireworks show for all fans in attendance, the longest-running Fourth of July fireworks show in all of professional sports during an active season.

Merchandise
There will be five locations at Rose Bowl Stadium selling merchandise around the stadium. Locations are: the Merchandise Truck in Fan Fest, at the Court of Champions (Southside), Westside, Eastside (Administration offices), Suite Level C and one spot at the LAFC North End. The Rose Bowl Collection will be available at all LA Galaxy Team Store locations at Rose Bowl Stadium. The collection features a rose t-shirt and hoodie, a rose corduroy hat in fitted, snapback and dad hat styles and a rose pin and pennant. Additionally, the LA Galaxy will wear the adidas x Marvel x MLS Captain America Jersey pre-match top during warmups against LAFC. The Captain America Jersey will be signed and auctioned off via the LA Galaxy Foundation at the Galaxy’s match against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, July 8.

Continuing their 2023 MLS Regular Season campaign, the LA Galaxy play host to LAFC at Rose Bowl Stadium on Tuesday, July 4 (7:30 p.m. PT; Free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, LA Galaxy Radio, LA Galaxy Spanish Radio). The Galaxy enter Tuesday’s Fourth of July match following a 2-2 draw on the road against the San Jose Earthquakes at Stanford Stadium on July 1, which extended a five-match unbeaten run (1-0-4; 7 GF, 6 GA) in league play dating back to May 31. The match between the LA Galaxy and LAFC marks the 20th edition across all competitions of El Tráfico, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 8-6-5. In the last meeting between the two clubs, the Galaxy earned a 2-0 shutout victory over LAFC at BMO Stadium in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on May 23. In the first meeting between the LA Galaxy and LAFC in league play this season, the Galaxy fell 3-2 to LAFC at Dignity Health Sports Park on April 16. In 10 all-time home matches played across all competitions against LAFC, the Galaxy hold a record of 7-1-2 (23 GF, 14 GA). The LA Galaxy played their first-ever MLS regular-season match at the Rose Bowl Stadium in a 2-1 win over the New York/New Jersey MetroStars on April 13, 1996.
