The LA Galaxy 20 for Twenty community program continued in support of veterans on November 10th as LA Galaxy defender Todd Dunivant, Star Squad and staff members volunteered at the West Los Angeles Veteran’s Hospital Appreciation Luncheon.

20 for Twenty is a year-long initiative that will see the implementation of 20 unique community service acts to celebrate the Galaxy’s 20th season in Major League Soccer. Thus far, the LA Galaxy have completed 16 service projects with participation in their most recent TreePeople Volunteer Day, LA Regional Food Bank Volunteer Day, and now, Veteran’s Hospital Appreciation Luncheon.

With over 350 local veterans in attendance, the Veteran Appreciation Luncheon offered free haircuts, a complimentary lunch menu, and giveaway bags and clothing. Event volunteers took part in event set-up, as well as escorting, greeting, and serving food to wheelchair and ambulatory patients.

The LA Foundation strives to honor America's veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good through various in-game programming and ticket donations. Throughout the 2015 regular season, the LA Galaxy Foundation donated over 900 tickets to local veterans while honoring 17 individuals through the Hero of the Game program, which allocates tickets, parking passes and meals for military families.

Efforts will continue throughout the offseason, as LA Galaxy players and Star Squad will take part in the 10th Annual Bob Hope USO Thanksgiving Dinner for The Troops on Tuesday, November 17th at the Bob Hope USO at Los Angeles International Airport. The event is projected to feed over 450 local military men and women in preparation of the holiday season.
