LA Galaxy Defender Jalen Neal Named to United States Men’s National Team for January Training Camp

LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023) – LA Galaxy defender Jalen Neal has been named to the United States Men’s National Team’s 24-man roster for the annual U.S. Men’s National Team’s BioSteel January training camp ahead of matches against Serbia at Banc of California Stadium on Wednesday, Jan. 25 (7:00 p.m. PT; HBO Max, Universo, Peacock, Telemundo App) and Colombia at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, Jan. 28 (4:30 p.m. PT; TNT, Telemundo, Peacock, Telemundo App). Neal, 19, made 21 appearances (20 starts) for LA Galaxy II during the 2022 USL Championship campaign. The Lakewood, Calif., native made his LA Galaxy debut against California United Strikers FC in the Round of 32 of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup on May 11, 2022. Neal has logged two goals in 48 games (45 starts) across all competitions for LA Galaxy II (2020-Present). 

Notably, Neal, an LA Galaxy Academy product, was part of the U.S. U-20 Men’s Youth National Team that qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup after winning the Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras last year. Neal logged one goal in five appearances (5 starts) as the U.S. won its third straight Concacaf U-20 Championship with a 6-0 win over the Dominican Republic on July 3, 2022.
