CARSON, Calif. (Monday, July 6, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will take a break from MLS action this week when they face Mexico’s Club América at StubHub Center on Saturday, July 11 at 8:30 p.m. PT in their first match of the International Champions Cup live on Fox Sports 1. LA Galaxy II will travel north for a match against California rivals Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m. PT.

Tailgating at StubHub Center will not be permitted before Saturday’s game against Club América.
LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard will begin his official training with LA Galaxy on Tuesday, July 7 at StubHub Center before participating in a press conference in StubHub Center’s American Express Stadium Club along with LA Galaxy President Chris Klein, LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena and AEG President and CEO Dan Beckerman. Gerrard will be available for selection when the Galaxy face Club América on Saturday, July 11 at StubHub Center.
The Galaxy’s match Saturday against Club América will mark their second appearance in the International Champions Cup. LA will also face FC Barcelona on July 21 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. In 2013, LA finished fourth in the tournament that featured Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Valencia and Everton, highlighted by a 3-1 victory over Juventus at Dodgers Stadium.
The International Champions Cup is an annual summer soccer tournament organized by Relevent Sports, featuring the best clubs from around the world. Club América was founded in 1916 and play in Mexico’s Liga MX. They are the country’s most popular and successful professional side in addition to being one of the most successful teams in CONCACAF history.
The LA Galaxy defeated Toronto FC 4-0 Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 27,000 fans at StubHub Center behind three goals from forward Robbie Keane and another from midfielder Sebastian Lletget. The win moved them to 8-6-7 with 31 points in MLS Regular Season play on the season.
