CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015) – The LA Galaxy have finished atop Group D and will now face Santos Laguna of Liga MX in the 2015-15 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals. The team earned a 1-1 draw on the road in Guatemala against Comunicaciones FC Wednesday night.
LA Galaxy 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal match dates and times will be announced at a later date.
LA Galaxy are set to make their fourth trip to the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals. In all-time SCCL competition, the Galaxy are now 15-8-5, scoring 52 goals and allowing 32. In SCCL matches on the road all-time, the Galaxy are now 12-4-2. The Galaxy continue to lead all U.S. teams in SCCL wins (15) and goals scored (52) all time. LA are 6-2-2 in their last 10 SCCL games overall with five shutouts during that span, and 1-3-3 in their last seven SCCL away matches.
The team finished first in Group D of SCCL group stages with a 2-0-2 record, earning wins over Central FC (Trinidad & Tobago) and Comunicaciones FC (Guatemala) at StubHub Center and draws on the road.
The quarterfinals of the 2015/16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League kick off in the last week of February, with the first legs to be played between the 23rd and 25th of that month. The second legs of the quarterfinals will all take place from March 1-3. Exact dates and times for quarterfinal matches will be announced by CONCACAF in the near future.
