LA Galaxy forward Ola Kamara and midfielder Efrain Alvarez called up for international duty

LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, May 29, 2018) – LA Galaxy forward Ola Kamara and midfielder Efrain Alvarez have been called in for international duties by their respective countries. Kamara will join Norway for friendlies against Iceland (June 2) and Panama (June 6) while Alvarez has joined the Mexican U-17 squad for training camp ahead of their participation in Varsseveld International Tournament in the Netherlands, which will end June 11.


Kamara will depart following the LA Galaxy’s match on Wednesday, May 30 against FC Dallas at StubHub Center. He will be available for selection next when the Galaxy host Real Salt Lake at StubHub Center on Saturday, June 9.

Kamara most recently appeared for Norway for two matches in March, where he recorded a hattrick during a 4-1 win over Australia. He originally debuted for his country on Oct. 11, 2013, and has made 10 total appearances.


Alvarez, 15, joins the Mexico U-17 side after participating in multiple Mexican youth national teams. The LA Galaxy Academy product scored six goals in three-straight games while on loan with LA Galaxy II before joining the Mexico U-17 squad.


The LA Galaxy will host FC Dallas on Wednesday, May 30 before a road contest against the Portland Timbers on Saturday, June 2.
