LA Galaxy Girls' Academy enjoy a successful 2018 Surf Cup to prepare for their season

The LA Galaxy Girls' Academy are starting their season on a high as the U-14s took home the 2018 San Diego Surf Cup. The 2018 Surf Cup, held in early August, marked the start of the LA Galaxy Girls' Academy's second season. 


Collectively, the Girls' Academy went 11-3-2 in the tournament for all age groups. The U-14s earned the Championship title after a dominating 4-0 performance over Solar USSDA. 


"Any time that you the opportunity to match up against top teams from around the United States, you look forward to the challenge," said Kevin Hartman, Director, LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy. "Certainly we’re proud of our 8-3-1 record, but for us the week has been an opportunity to get to know new teammates and to get acquainted with the different styles of play of our opponents. We were happy to have so many college coaches out at our matches and evaluating our student athletes."


The LA Galaxy Girls' Academy start their official 2018/19 campaign with games against the So Cal Blues Soccer Club on Saturday, September 1 at So Cal Sports Complex Oceanside in Oceanside, Calif.
