LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH CURT ONALFO
On being able to close out the match and secure the three points:

“I thought Saturday we actually played better. But the good thing was that tonight we were able to rotate bodies and use our entire squad, so getting the result was a good thing. I don’t think we played our best game, but much needed points and good concentration. We fought hard, just the soccer needed to be a little better. We’ll take the three points.”

On the test they’ll face this weekend on the road against Sacramento:

“It’s the end of a long week. We’re going to need to be really intelligent, just assess the group and figure out who makes the most sense in terms of playing so that we have a fresh team on the field and go there with a good game plan and hopefully get another result.”

LA GALAXY DEFENDER LEE NISHANIAN
On being able to close out the match:

“It’s just focus, we’ve talked about it all season long. We felt that there’s a lot of games, especially early in the year, where we’ve gotten ties where we should’ve gotten wins. So it’s just a mental focus and we knew we needed these points to clinch a playoff spot. And we’re not just looking to clinch a playoff spot, we’re looking to move up in the standings. So we had to lock down mentally and it worked out for us tonight.”

On their weekend match with Sacramento Republic FC:

“It’s always a battle. We’ve beaten them up there before in the playoffs, so we know it’s nothing we can’t do. There’s a lot of us that have been here from past seasons that know what it takes, so it’s just going in with the right mentality. We know if we play our game, if we play our soccer, that we should win every game. We’ll be confident going up there looking to get three points.”
