LA GALAXY II MIDFIELDER RYO FUJII
On scoring two goals:

“The first one, Jack [McBean] just slipped it in and I had some space to turn and hit it. Luckily, it went in. The second one was just a rebound and I had a clean shot at it and it went in.”

On the first half:

“The last game, we tied, and the past couple of games we haven’t been winning, so going up 3-0 in the first half was definitely a good sign. And it’s something that we can build on and hopefully do that every game from now on.”

On bouncing back with a win:

“This is big. We really needed these points and we got it.”

LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH CURT ONALFO
On Jack McBean and Ryo Fujii:

“[Ryo] Fujii, that was the most complete performance he has put together. He was complete defensively and he scored two great goals. We’re really pleased with that progress. Jack has been doing this all year and in preseason. He has 11 goals now, he had nine goals in preseason, so he has 20 goals over the last few months. He’s continued to progress and is leading by example, so it was really good performances by both of them.”

On the game overall:

“We had an excellent first half. [It was] the best 45 minutes we’ve played all year, which was really encouraging. We moved the ball well, we created chances from all different angles. We defended well individually and collectively. 3-0 at half, it’s a little bit of human nature to let your foot off the gas a little bit, but more credit to Arizona because they came out with enormous energy and kept pushing the game, and that’s what led to the penalty kick and then we woke up a little bit and closed out the game with the fourth goal. Overall, it was a good performance.”
