LA Galaxy launch new primary kit at “This Is LA” pop-up shop in downtown LA

LOS ANGELES – The LA Galaxy launched their new jersey and their glitzy new “This is LA” marketing campaign on Thursday at their new pop-up shop at BLENDS in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

More than 150 influencers, supporters, media and Galaxy players A.J. DeLaGarza, Sebastian Lletget and Robbie Rogers packed the sneaker store which has been converted into an gallery space celebrating the Galaxy’s new 2016 primary kit. The jersey was not the only focus, however, as BLENDS featured 10 large prints featuring Galaxy players posing in their home neighborhoods.

“You see photos of Robbie Keane in Downtown LA, Landon Donovan in Manhattan Beach, and myself in Redondo Beach. [The photos] show that we’re all over the county and all over Los Angeles,” DeLaGarza told LAGalaxy.com. “We are L.A. That’s why we embody the phrase ‘This is LA.’”

Jason Bentley provided the tunes for the party, and the KCRW DJ admitted that the Galaxy are an essential part of the culture of the City of Angels.

“We’re both part of Los Angeles’ culture,” Bentley told LAGalaxy.com. “Music and sports all go hand and hand as part of living here and being part of this great city.”

For Bentley, the collaboration between the Galaxy and different facets of the community shows the team’s commitment to not only their fans but the city as well.

“It’s a smart and well-run organization because being a part of the fabric of the city is important for any sports organization,” Bentley said. “To come downtown in the Fashion District and launch the new design is great.”

With the jersey officially unveiled and the MLS regular season about a month away, excitement is already building for the year ahead.

“I love the new kit. I love its simplicity; I love the yellow-and-blue sash,” said Lletget. I’m hoping that we can win a championship in it.”
