LA Galaxy Loan Forward Ruben Ramos Jr. To Sporting Kansas City Through 2027 MLS Sprint Season

LOS ANGELES (September 3, 2026) – The LA Galaxy announced today that the club has loaned forward Ruben Ramos Jr. to Sporting Kansas City through the 2027 MLS sprint season, in exchange for $75,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money. The deal includes a trade option for Kansas City at the conclusion of the loan. The deal includes a trade option for Kansas City at the conclusion of the loan and up to $50,000 in conditional GAM.

Ramos Jr., 19, has made six appearances, including two starts, for the Galaxy during the 2026 season. He scored his first career MLS goal in LA’s 2-2 draw against CF Montréal on August 22, on his second start of the campaign. Ramos Jr. made his first start of the season on April 22 at Columbus and recorded his 2026 MLS regular-season debut as a second-half substitute against Charlotte FC on the final matchday of February. 

A native of La Puente, California and a product of the LA Galaxy Academy, Ramos Jr. has totaled 18 appearances (three starts) across all competitions since making his first-team debut as a second-half substitute against Sporting Kansas City on June 15, 2024. During the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season, he registered four goals and one assist in 13 appearances (12 starts) for Ventura County FC. 

At the international level, Ramos Jr. recorded four goals and one assist in six appearances for the U.S. U-20 Men's Youth National Team at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship, helping the United States qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. He also tallied two goals in five appearances at the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship. 

Transaction: LA Galaxy loan forward Ruben Ramos Jr. to Sporting KC until June 30, 2027, in exchange for $75,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money and up to an additional $50,000 in conditional GAM.
