LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that midfielder Jonathan Pérez was named to the U-23 Mexican National Team for a training camp from Nov. 12-21. Additionally, LA Galaxy Academy goalkeeper Owen Pratt and midfielders Brett Phan and Mateo Tsakiris were each called up to the U.S. U-16 Men’s Youth National Team for the first training camp of the 2023-24 cycle from Nov. 12-19 at Dignity Health Sports Park.
During their training camp, the U-23 Mexican National Team will train alongside the Mexican Senior National Team at the national team’s High-Performance Center, in addition to playing friendly matches against Club América and Pumas UNAM. Pérez, 20, recorded one assist in six appearances across all competitions for the LA Galaxy during the 2023 campaign. Additionally, the Pico Rivera, Calif., native notched two goals and two assists in 14 matches played (14 starts) on loan for LA Galaxy II during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season.
