LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ
On tonight’s offensive output:

“We came into a game plan where we wanted to frustrate Swope Park, it’s a good team, they were the Western Conference Champions last year for a reason. We wanted to frustrate them, we knew we were gonna defend for a majority of the game but when we had those chances to break forward we looked dangerous and that’s kind of our bread and butter right now. Unfortunately a couple chances didn’t go in but I don’t think we gave up any real chances until that goal and then obviously after that we gave up a few more because we were chasing the game. I’m proud of the guys because I think they put everything into it, they tried to execute the game plan but we just came short.”

On Jean Engola’s performance, and development:

“It’s not easy coming from another where you don’t know the language. It’s a culture shock for him, he’s 19 years old. We think he has a ton of upside obviously there is still a lot of aspects he still has to improve in his game. But, he’s an interesting prospect that’s for sure and I would say he’s getting games every single weekend against top pros and that’s only gonna make him better.”

On changes for next game:

“Quick turnaround, so we’ll try to get some fresh legs in as much as we possibly can in the situation in our club. But we have another tough opponent and we look to create more chances going forward.”

LA GALAXY MIDFIELDER ALEJANDRO COVARRUBIAS
On the match:

“It’s disappointing. I felt like we could have had the three points. At least walked away with a point. It’s just the little things you know. We had a good performance, but one mistake can cost us the game and that’s what happened. Overall we had a good game and we had a good performance, but it’s just that one mistake that cost us the game. We’ve got to learn from it and it’s a quick turnaround before Monday.”

On what it will take for the team to starting stringing together results:

“Since I’ve been here, we’ve been playing well, but the results aren’t coming. We just have to keep working hard and find the back of the net. We just have to finish our chances and just finish off the game. Give credit to the guys, we’re all fighting, we’re all working. We just have to find that goal and after that it will build our confidence. We are playing well, but haven’t got the results. We just have to keep working.”
