LA Galaxy ranked in the top five of the Sports Illustrated MLS Ambition Rankings | INSIDER

The LA Galaxy were ranked in the top five of the annual "Ambition Rankings" issued by Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl. 


The Galaxy finished the list ranked fourth after finishing first a year ago. Wahl's rankings take into account a diverse set of factors including Designated Player signings and overall investment on a vast variety  of areas including player development, infrastructure as well as ticket and sponsorship numbers. 


The Galaxy state that they spend a total of $4.4 million on Academy development last year, while Galaxy II operates on a budget of $2.3 million. Los Angeles also released that they spent a total of $8.1 million on Designated Players in 2017 down from $13.7 last year. The club's sponsor Herbalife Nutrition accounted for $23.1 million in sponsorships in 2016 which set a Galaxy club record.
