LA Galaxy sign midfielder Sebastian Lletget

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, May 8, 2015) – The LA Galaxy have signed U.S. midfielder Sebastian Lletget, the club announced today. Lletget, 22, was born in California and joins the club from West Ham United F.C. in the England’s Barclays Premier League. Per the league’s Discovery Process conflict resolution mechanism, the Galaxy acquired the right to sign Lletget from the New England Revolution in exchange for $50,000 in Allocation Money. Lletget will join the Galaxy’s roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“Sebastian is a young, talented attacking player who we think can find success in our team,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena. “We’re happy to have him return to his home state to join the Galaxy and we look forward to his contributions going forward.”

Lletget, a product of San Francisco, California, featured for Sporting Santa Clara in Northern California as a youth player before joining West Ham United’s youth system in London in 2009. He made his first team professional debut for the English Premier League side in 2014 when he played all 90 minutes in a FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.

Internationally, Lletget has made multiple appearances for U.S. Men’s National Team youth sides, including call ups to the USMNT U-17’s, U-20’s and U-23’s.
