CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy Special Olympics Southern California Unified Team played a thrilling contest with a joint Boys’ and Girls’ Academy squad in their first match on May 25 at StubHub Center.
The Academy earned a 3-2 victory over the Special Olympics Southern California Unified squad who notched two goals in the second half.
Marcos Isisdro notched a brace, while Sydney Sharp rounded out the scoring for the Academy, which was made up of eight members of the Boys’ and Girls’ Academy respectively. Galaxy Unified athletes, Logan Jones and Douglas Molina found the back of the net for their squad.
The match capped off an exciting week of volunteerism between the two teams bonded over a different sport, bowling, at Bowlero in Torrance the night before the match.
The LA Galaxy Special Olympics Southern California Unified Team will return to action on Sept. 1.
