The launch of LA Galaxy’s Week of Giving community programming started with a Holiday Meal of Love at Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House on Monday, as staff members prepared and served meals to families with patients receiving care at local hospitals over the holidays. The evening featured special appearances from LA Galaxy Star Squad and Mascot Cozmo participating in soccer programming as well as cookie decorating and coloring stations.

LA Galaxy Week of Giving is a culmination of the LA Galaxy Foundation Fridays volunteer initiative that dedicated over $35,000 and 2,000 volunteer hours to the Los Angeles community throughout the 2016 season. LA Galaxy players, staff and supporters volunteered once a month with local non-profit organizations such as American Red Cross, West Los Angeles Veteran’s Hospital, Heal the Bay, TreePeople, Union Rescue Mission and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles through the Foundation Fridays program.


Holiday programming will continue with LA Galaxy Week of Giving events to include a Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build Day, Academy student athletes visiting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles alongside LA Galaxy community soccer clinics hosted in South Central Los Angeles and Santa Ana.
