It’s been an eventful week on LAGalaxy.com and to recap some of the best content produced this week, we take a look back at the most interesting stories, videos and interviews from the past seven days.
1.) San Bernardino’s Son: The Story of Raul Mendiola

Despite being barely old enough to drive, Raul Mendiola has endured a long road and learned each step of the way.


In this longform feature, LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano looks back at Mendiola’s youth and the influence of his mother Claudia and Galaxy captain Robbie Keane as he prepares to spend the season with LA Galaxy II.


The LA Galaxy II midfielder has shined with Los Dos as he has tallied an assist in each of three appearances for the USL PRO affiliate.


2) “San Penedo” poster kicks off LA Galaxy match poster series

LA Galaxy Weekly Content Round Up -

This week, the LA Galaxy announced the start of their match day poster series which will see a new game specific poster unveiled at each Galaxy home game.


To kick off the series, Galaxy graphic designer Brad Saiki designed a poster entitled “San Penedo” commemorating goalkeeper Jaime Penedo’s fantastic one-handed stop against Vancouver Whitecaps FC a year ago.


The poster will be available for sale at Saturday’s match against Vancouver at StubHub Center.   


3.) I Believe! ESPN unveils new World Cup commercial

The World Cup is coming and ESPN provided a perfect way to get you psyched for Brazil.


In a new commercial, ESPN looks at the U.S. supporters group the American Outlaws and one of their signature chants “I believe.”


This video is guaranteed to give you the chills.


4.) Kickin’ It With Kelli: Steve Nash

In the latest edition Kickin’ It With Kelli, the Time Warner Cable SportsNet sideline reporter speaks to Los Angeles Lakers guard and NBA All-Star Steve Nash about his passion for the beautiful game.


Nash will be keeping a close eye on this weekend’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC as he’s a part-owner of the Canadian team.


5.) KICKTV’s MLS Insider look at who has been “Burned by Donovan”

Don’t worry MLS defenders getting burned by Landon Donovan, it’s happened to the best of them.


In this interesting piece by KICKTV for the MLS Insider series, they speak to a number of MLS’ best defenders like Jimmy Conrad, former Galaxy star Robin Fraser, Eddie Pope, current New England Revolution head coach Jay Heaps, and current New  York Red Bulls boss Mike Petke about Donovan.


In the video, the notable defenders discuss why Donovan is so dangerous on the attacking end and why he’s come to within a single goal of holding the MLS all-time regular season goal scoring record.
