Taking place Saturday evening at Rose Bowl Stadium, the five-time MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy will host the 2022 MLS Cup champions LAFC in a historic match showcasing Los Angeles’ marquee soccer rivalry — with attendance expected to set a new MLS record.

The 2023 MLS Regular-Season opener between the LA Galaxy and LAFC marks the 18th edition of El Tráfico across all competitions, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 7-5-5. In nine all-time home matches played across all competitions against LAFC, the Galaxy hold an unbeaten record of 7-0-2 (21 GF, 11 GA). The LA Galaxy played their first-ever MLS regular-season match at Rose Bowl Stadium in a 2-1 win over the New York/New Jersey MetroStars on April 13, 1996. In 107 all-time regular-season and playoff games played at Rose Bowl Stadium, the Galaxy hold a combined record of 86-32-9 record (.713 win percentage).
