Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp joined LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena in shooting down the talk of a potential offseason loan deal for Steven Gerrard.

Ahead of LFC's Europa League match with Rubin Kazan, Klopp revealed that he has spoken briefly with Gerrard recently, but assured that he will not be joining the club on loan in the offseason.

"He is a legend," Klopp told reporters. "If he's in Liverpool and wants to train ahead of next season in LA that's absolutely no problem. Nothing else."

Klopp's comments come following a report in The Independent which stated that Gerrard may be open to an offseason loan deal to his former club.

Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena confirmed that Gerrard or Galaxy captain Robbie Keane will not be heading out on loan this offseason last week. The Englishman himself told LAGalaxy.com following the team's playoff exit to Seattle Sounders that he remains committed to the Galaxy in 2016
