Match Preview: LA Galaxy II look to continue their positive momentum vs Tulsa

This Thursday, LA Galaxy II (4-11-2, 14 points) will host the Tulsa Roughnecks FC (7-8-0, 21 points) in a Western conference showdown. The two sides will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, July 13 at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium (streamed live on LAGalaxy.com/2).

LA returns home riding high off of a 4-3 comeback win against Portland Timbers 2. After a slow start, the Galaxy found themselves down 2-1 at the midway mark. But after a quick strike in the 47th, Galaxy II exploded for two more unanswered goals, grabbing a 4-2 lead in the 60th. That surge of offense proved to be too much for the Timbers and the Galaxy escaped Portland with three points.

After striking back to back in last week’s matchup, Adrian Vera now has notched four goals on the season, leaving him one goal behind leader Justin Dhillon(5). Vera has managed to score four goals on only eight shots this season, posting an impressive 50% conversion rate on attack.

The last matchup between these Tulsa and LA was also a success for the Galaxy. A 2-0 win at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on July 24, 2016, where Adonis Amaya stood out in the contest, scoring one goal on three shots while only being in the game for the first 63 minutes. Covarrubias also scored in the contest.
