LA Galaxy II dropped a result at home last weekend against Phoenix Rising FC, but
Los Dos
will carry a stream of confidence on the road with them stemming from the four points they earned early this month with a win at New York Red Bulls II and a draw Rio Grande Valley FC. They are 1-3-1 on the road this season.
Forward Justin Dhillon scored in both road matches, providing the game-winner with a well-placed volley from Galaxy Academy’s Jorge Hernandez. His equalizer against RGVC came from the feet of Ethan Zubak, who’s assisted in consecutive games now for the Galaxy.
Zubak has been one of the brightest spots for Galaxy II this year, scoring or assisting in almost half the games he’s started. He co-leads
Los Dos
with two goals and leads in assists with two. In 22 appearances for LA in 2016, Zubak recorded two goals and one assist. Lately, Zubak has been without the partnership of forward Adonis Amaya, but he combined with 2016 sidekick Ariel Lassiter for a goal in the team’s latest outing against Phoenix.
Alejandro Covarrubias returns to the lineup for GII after serving a one-game suspension was issued to the
Los Dos
veteran during the team’s 1-1 draw against RGVFC. Saturday would mark Covarrubias’ second appearance for LA since re-signing with the club on May 18 after a brief stint with OKC Energy FC.
SSFC2 are 2-2-1 at their home, Starfire Sports Complex, this season. On a three game winless streak, Seattle snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-2 draw at home on May 28 against Sacramento Republic FC. Irvin Parra and Felix Chenkam lead the way with three goals each for SSFC2 this season - Chenkam scored the opener in the Sounders’ 2-1 win over LA at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on April 15. Ray Saari co-leads the side with two assists, both of them coming in that fixture against
Los Dos
