LA Galaxy II play host to the Oakland Roots at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday, July 25, at 5:00 p.m. PT live on ESPN+.

This year, Los Dos are 3-7-4 with 13 points, with 21 goals scored and 27 conceded for a -6 goal differential. In their most recent match, Los Dos were defeated 5-0 on the road by Phoenix Rising FC on July 17.

This year, Preston Judd has seven goals in the USL Championship, the most of any Galaxy II player and tied for fifth in the USL Championship. Additionally, Jorge Hernández ranks second on LA with five goals scored, including leading the club and ranking tied for third in the league with 30 chances created. Goalkeeper Justin vom Steeg leads the team with two shutouts and 19 saves in eight appearances in 2021.

Sunday’s contest marks the second meeting between the two clubs this season, with Oakland defeating LA 3-2 at Dignity Health Sports Park on May 23. The Roots and Los Dos will play two more times this year, next squaring off on Aug. 14 in LA and on Sept. 18 at Oakland.

Notably, the LA Galaxy signed midfielder Daniel Aguirre to a one-year contract with three club option years from Los Dos on July 7. Additionally, the Galaxy signed defender Josh Drack to a short-term loan from USL Championship affiliate LA Galaxy II under Extreme Hardship.

In 2020, Los Dos finished the regular season 8-6-2 with 26 points (4-3-1 at home and 4-3-1 on the road), earning them second place in Group B standings and clinching a berth in the USL Championship Playoffs for the second-straight season.

Head Coach Junior Gonzalez holds a 18-18-9 record throughout his head coaching tenure with LA Galaxy II and has led the team to two-consecutive playoff appearances. In the seven years of USL Championship competition, Los Dos have qualified for playoffs five times, in addition to a USL Western Conference Championship in 2015.

LA Galaxy II compete in the USL Championship Western Conference Pacific Division for the 2021 campaign alongside the following clubs: Las Vegas Lights FC, Oakland Roots SC, Orange County SC, Phoenix Rising FC, Sacramento Republic FC, San Diego Loyal SC and Tacoma Defiance.
