Entering Week 25 of the 2021 USL Championship campaign, LA Galaxy II play host to San Diego Loyal SC at Dignity Health Sports Park Track & Field Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. PT live on ESPN+.

This year, Los Dos are 9-11-5 (32 points), with 45 goals scored and 46 conceded for a -1 goal differential. In their most recent match, LA Galaxy II earned their third consecutive win, moving into the playoff positions in the USL Championship’s Pacific Division with a 3-0 shutout win over 10-man Phoenix Rising FC at Dignity Health Sports Park on Oct. 2. Preston Judd and Jorge Hernández both tallied goals, while goalkeeper Justin vom Steeg posted his third consecutive shutout in the win for LA.

In its last seven matches played dating back to Aug. 27, LA holds a 4-2-1 record. During LA’s three-match winning streak, Galaxy II have outscored their opponents 6-0.

During the 2021 campaign, Judd has ranks ninth in the league in goals scored (12). Additionally, Hernández ranks second on LA with 10 goals scored, including leading the league with 66 chances created. Vom Steeg leads the team with six shutouts and 48 saves in 17 games played in 2021. Josh Drack ranks tied for 12th in the USL Championship with six assists.

Saturday’s contest marks the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season, with San Diego holding a 3-0-0 record against LA in three regular-season matches played.

In 2020, Los Dos finished the regular season 8-6-2 with 26 points (4-3-1 at home and 4-3-1 on the road), earning them second place in Group B standings and clinching a berth in the USL Championship Playoffs for the second-straight season.

Head Coach Junior Gonzalez holds a 23-23-10 record throughout his head coaching tenure with LA Galaxy II and has led the team to two-consecutive playoff appearances. In the seven years of USL Championship competition, Los Dos have qualified for playoffs five times, in addition to a USL Western Conference Championship in 2015.
