LA Galaxy II play host to the Tacoma Defiance at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday, July 11, at 5:00 p.m. PT live on ESPN+.

This year, Los Dos are 3-5-3 with 12 points, with 20 goals scored and 21 conceded for a -1 goal differential. In their most recent match, Los Dos fell 3-0 on the road to Phoenix Rising FC on July 3.

This year, Preston Judd has seven goals in the USL Championship, the most of any Galaxy II player and tied for fourth in the USL Championship with Phoenix’s Santi Moar and Solomon Asante. Judd has tallied four goals in his previous four matches played. Additionally, Jorge Hernández ranks second on LA with five goals scored, including leading the club with 27 chances created.

Sunday’s contest marks the third meeting between LA and Tacoma this season, with the Defiance defeating Los Dos 2-0 in the last meeting between the two clubs on June 27.  In the first meeting between LA Galaxy II and Tacoma in 2021, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw on May 9. Jorge Hernandez tallied a goal for LA in the draw to Tacoma on May 9. 

Notably, the LA Galaxy signed midfielder Daniel Aguirre to a one-year contract with three club option years from Los Dos on July 7. Additionally, the Galaxy signed defender Josh Drack to a short-term loan from USL Championship affiliate LA Galaxy II under Extreme Hardship. 

In 2020, Los Dos finished the regular season 8-6-2 with 26 points (4-3-1 at home and 4-3-1 on the road), earning them second place in Group B standings and clinching a berth in the USL Championship Playoffs for the second-straight season. 

Head Coach Junior Gonzalez holds a 18-17-8 record throughout his head coaching tenure with LA Galaxy II and has led the team to two-consecutive playoff appearances. In the seven years of USL Championship competition, Los Dos have qualified for playoffs five times, in addition to a USL Western Conference Championship in 2015.

LA Galaxy II compete in the USL Championship Western Conference Pacific Division for the 2021 campaign alongside the following clubs: Las Vegas Lights FC, Oakland Roots SC, Orange County SC, Phoenix Rising FC, Sacramento Republic FC, San Diego Loyal SC and Tacoma Defiance.
