LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, March 8, 2022) – Following a 1-0 win over expansion side Charlotte FC in front of an MLS record crowd of 74,479 fans at Bank of America Stadium on March 5, the LA Galaxy (2-0-0, 6 points) travel to face Seattle Sounders FC (0-2-0, 0 points) at Lumen Field (12:30 p.m. PT; FOX, FOX Deportes) on Saturday, March 12.
Saturday’s match marks the 34 MLS regular-season meeting between LA and Seattle, with the Galaxy trailing the series 10-11-12. In 16 regular-season matches played in Seattle, LA holds a record of 4-6-6. In the last meeting between the two teams at Lumen Field on Nov. 1, 2021, the Galaxy and Sounders played to a 1-1 draw, marking LA’s first result on the road against Seattle in regular-season play dating back to Sept. 10, 2017. In the 1-0 shutout win on the road at Charlotte, Efraín Álvarez tallied the game-winning goal, while Raheem Edwards registered an assist in a second consecutive match. Notably, Álvarez was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 2 following the win over Charlotte.
