LOS ANGELES (October 31, 2026) – The LA Galaxy (11-11-11, 41 points) defeated Western Conference side Austin FC (8-14-10, 34 points) 4-1 in the 2026 MLS Regular Season home finale at Dignity Health Sports Park. João Klauss kicked off the Galaxy's highest scoring match of the season in the 10th minute, followed by goals from Hirving Lozano, Robert Taylor, and Sergi Roberto to secure a crucial three-points for LA with one regular season match left to play.

Goalscoring Plays

LA – João Klauss (Harbor Miller, Sergi Roberto), 10th minute: Roberto picked out Miller on the right side of the box, and Miller's one touch pass found Klauss, who took a touch before finishing at the near post to open the scoring.

LA – Hirving Lozano (Marco Reus, Harbor Miller), 38th minute: Miller played Marco Reus deep into the penalty area, and the German lofted a cross to the back post where Lozano headed in to double LA's lead.

LA – Robert Taylor (Marco Reus), 48th minute: Joseph Paintsil fed the ball to Marco Reus in the box, and the Galaxy captain played it across to Robert Taylor, whose finish into the roof of the net extended the Galaxy's lead to three.

ATX – Ervin Torres (Micah Burton, Jorge Alastuey), 54th minute: Burton laid the ball off to Torres just outside the penalty area, and Torres curled a shot into the top-right corner to extend the lead to 3-1.

LA – Sergi Roberto (Marco Reus, João Klauss), 66th minute: Klauss played a diagonal ball to Reus, whose headed pass sent Roberto through on goal for a one-on-one finish against the Austin goalkeeper.

Postgame Notes

  • João Klauss opened the scoring this afternoon with his 10th MLS Regular Season goal of the year, his 11th in all competitions. In the 66th minute, the Brazilian forward added his first league assist of the season.
  • In his return to the pitch from an injury he suffered while on international duty with the Mexico National Team, Hirving Lozano recorded the eventual game-winning goal in the 38th minute, his second of the campaign and first in front of the home crowd at Dignity Health Sports Park.
  • Marco Reus recorded a club season-high three assists in today’s win and has now registered 12 contributions in his last nine appearances. Notably, today marked Reus’ fourth multi-contribution performance in that span.
  • 19-year-old Homegrown Harbor Miller registered two assists, the first multi-contribution performance of his MLS career.
  • Robert Taylor entered the match as a second-half substitute and promptly scored against his former team, the sixth goal contribution for Taylor in the club’s last seven matches (two goals, four assists).
  • Sergi Roberto scored his first goal as a member of the LA Galaxy in the 66th minute of this afternoon’s match and his first multi-contribution performance in Blue, White, and Gold after tallying an assist on the opening score of the game.
  • As it currently stands, the LA Galaxy sit in 7th place in the Western Conference table with 44 points, a point ahead of both Colorado and Seattle in 8th and 9th, with both still to play this weekend.

LA Galaxy Postgame Top Quotes

LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney

On his approach to the next match and having the team healthy:

“First, it's always good to go into the final week and know that you don't have to scoreboard watch, and that you have to take care of your own business. And if you do that, you control your own destiny. That's when you're in it this close at the end, that's the one thing you definitely want. It's on us. Second, we talked about so many changes that happened over the summer window. It was six guys in, guys out, delays in getting guys in, different things. We'd always said that when this group gets together and we can get them in sync as much as possible, we had a team that could be very dangerous down the stretch. We're pushing that part of getting them in sync down to the very end of the wire, but I think we've been pretty consistent, St. Louis aside, through this second part of the season as guys have gotten healthy.”

On the mentality of the group and their ability to show up and get the job done:

“It was good. I think some of that becomes the group of players as well that we have. There's quality on the field. They take care of some of those moments and some of the business. Guys now are starting to fit into their roles and starting to connect together. I could say we didn't have a great day today, but we still were able to win 4-1, and that's good. That means for us when we have a great day, we can be really good. So we've got to keep building towards that. We got to make sure we keep that. Today, I thought, down the stretch that the game lost a little bit of its edge that you have at this time of year. We've got to make sure as we go in next week that we have all that edge ready to go because it's going to be a team playing for their life at home, which just makes for a tough opponent. So it's good. When we have to win and we're supposed to win, you need to win. That's an important thing in this league. And today we were able to take care of that.”

On which goal he liked the most and why:

“I can't even remember them all if I'm being honest. Whichever one was the best team goal, that's the one I enjoyed the most. I remember who scores, but I don't remember exactly the details of each one.”

LA Galaxy Forward Hirving Lozano

On the team finding form:

“No, I think that since I arrived at the Galaxy there were some stumbles we had, but well, it's normal for the season, it's normal for the moment, but I think in the last games we've shown great [performances] ... Of course we have to improve details, but I think the team is on the right track. We hope everything turns out in our favor to be able to make the playoffs, and well, I think we are on the right track, I think we are improving and it looks like a more solid team each time.”

On switching from the left wing to the right wing:

"I think that Greg and I talked and he told me if there was a possibility to play on the right and I told him that with pleasure, I can play both positions and I don't have any problem... I felt better on the left at this moment and I told him, well, whatever is best for the team, let's do it, right? I don't have any problem. The truth is that day by day, training by training, game by game, we are getting to know each other much better. I think we are adapting well. And well, the most important thing is that it's the end of the championship. We are there in the fight to be able to enter the playoffs and hopefully everything is done in the best way.

On how he feels his chemistry is with his teammates:

“I feel very happy, we have a great team, they are great players with a lot of quality. Sometimes the matches don't come out as we want, but well, we always insist that it can be done in the best way. The truth is that I feel very happy to be here with these players, they are great people, they are great players, and being in a group like this fulfills you a lot. And it was what I was talking about during the week with Greg. You feel an environment that makes you want to train, that makes you want to play and that is very important for the group.”

LA Galaxy Defender Harbor Miller

On his own growth this season:

“I think first of all, I've grown as a player a lot, playing a lot of different positions. Throughout those two thousand minutes, playing higher up on the field, the left, the right, kind of thrown into a bunch of different areas. I think that has really helped me improve to make my game more versatile and to be ready, honestly, for anything. And I think moving ahead in my career, wherever my career takes me, I think I'll be ready now to play in any single position. I think wrapping up this season, my biggest takeaways have just been for myself to get more comfortable and playing, very consistently every single week. And so, super grateful for the opportunity to make this kind of a breakout season for myself. And honestly, hoping to keep it going for the next few games. And then, obviously, in the next season."

On being excluded from the MLS 22 Under 22 List: (Note: Miller was included as an Honorable Mention)

“I think I'm competitive, so I'd be lying to you if I said that I didn't want to make that roster. Of course. I'm the type of guy that I'm gonna keep working hard, whether I got an assist tonight or whether I didn't make the roster. I'm gonna go back and I'm gonna do the same thing I do every single day, which is go and give my all no matter what. So I think you know it sucks, but I also know that it's been a really good season for myself and the people apart of the club and a bunch of other people have also noticed and seen that as well. My time will come. I'm not worried about it. I'm gonna put my head down and keep working. And I hope I'll be on that roster next year."

On what he's teaching his teammates about LA:

“I think one of the biggest things is my lifestyle, like the way I am and my personality, is a lot because of where I've grown up and because of my parents and because of my family. This is my home. I've been here since I was 10 years old, and most of the soccer that I know has all been taught here. And not only that, but I think the game is so much more than just soccer. I try to bring passion, bring heart, because that's what I've always been taught from my family, my friends, and my coaches. I think that when they see me, I hope they're like, dang, you know, that young kid, he really wants it, and he has something to prove. And I hope that can motivate them as well. They're on the ends of their careers, and they have their money, they have their status, whatever that is. And I think, hey, I want to be there, and I want to get there. It is contagious. Whether guys are going through tackles till the 90th minute. I think I can reflect that towards them, and then obviously, with their quality and their brilliance, they can reflect that on me as well. So I think showing them, LA is gritty, and LA is not like everywhere else. We're not European, we're not South American. This America, this is LA. So I think not only showing them how we play, but also how we compete, has been huge. That's something I hope all American soccer players can really bring, and that's what the next generation is bringing, and it's getting noticed from everywhere. So I think that's my best answer to that question."
